Why fixtures wear out faster in Southern Utah
The same hard water that shortens the life of a water heater is rough on everything else too. Minerals build up inside faucet aerators and showerheads and choke the flow. They collect on the small parts inside a faucet until it starts to drip. They crust around shut-off valves until the valve seizes and will not budge on the day you actually need it closed. None of it is dramatic, which is exactly why it gets ignored, but it is why fixtures here tend to need attention sooner than the box they came in promised. If your water pressure has quietly dropped or a faucet has started to drip, hard water is usually somewhere in the story.
