What areas do you serve?

We are based in Cedar City and serve communities across Southern Utah, including Enoch, Parowan, Paragonah, Brian Head, Kanarraville, Hurricane, Washington, and St. George, along with many smaller towns in Iron and Washington counties. If you do not see your town listed, call us anyway and we will tell you straight whether we can get to you.

Do you charge for an estimate?

Accepted Answer

No. Estimates are free. We would rather look at the job, tell you what it needs, and let you decide than charge you for the privilege of getting a number.

How quickly can you come out?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the day and on where you are. Urgent problems move to the front of the line, and in many cases we can get out the same day, especially closer to Cedar City. Call us with what is happening and we will give you a real answer on timing instead of a vague window.

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We keep payment simple and will go over the options with you before the work is done, so there is nothing to sort out at the end. If you have a preference, mention it when you call.

Do you stand behind your work?

Yes. If something we repaired is not right, we want to hear about it and we will make it right. Thirty years in a community this size only works if you do good work and answer for it. That is a big part of why our customers keep calling back.

Do you work on commercial buildings?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Alongside homes, we handle plumbing for businesses across Southern Utah. Commercial work usually means a tighter window, since a plumbing problem can shut you down for the day, so tell us what is going on when you call and we will treat it accordingly.

How do I shut off the water to my house?

Accepted Answer

Most homes have a main shutoff valve where the water line enters, often in a basement, a crawl space, a garage, or a utility closet. Turn it clockwise until it stops. There is usually also a curb stop out near the street under a small metal lid, which takes a special key to operate. Individual fixtures have their own smaller valves underneath. Find your main shutoff now, while nothing is wrong. The middle of a leak is a bad time to go looking for it.

What should I do while I wait for you to arrive?

Shut off the water to the problem, either at the fixture valve or at the main if water is spreading. Move anything valuable away from the wet area and mop up standing water so it does not soak into flooring. If the problem is near an outlet or a panel, stay clear of it. Then leave the rest alone. Trying to force a repair mid-leak usually makes the damage worse.

Are chemical drain cleaners safe to use?

We would skip them. They often fail to clear the actual blockage, and the caustic chemicals sit in the pipe where they can damage older lines, gaskets, and seals. They also make the job more hazardous for whoever opens that drain next. If a plunger has not solved it, calling is cheaper than fixing a pipe the chemicals ate through.

Why is my water bill suddenly higher than usual?

A hidden leak is a common cause, and a running toilet is the usual suspect. Here is a quick check: turn off every tap and water-using appliance in the house, then look at your water meter. If it is still moving, water is going somewhere it should not be. That could be a toilet flapper, an irrigation line, a slab leak, or a supply line inside a wall. Worth finding early, because those quietly add up.

How long should a water heater last?

A conventional tank heater commonly runs somewhere in the eight to twelve year range, and tankless units generally last longer. Southern Utah water is hard, though, so sediment builds up inside the tank and many heaters here fall short of that. Flushing the tank periodically helps. If yours is rumbling, running out of hot water sooner than it used to, or is already past ten years, it is worth having looked at before it decides on its own.

My toilet keeps running. Is that actually a problem?

Yes, more than most people think. A toilet that runs continuously can waste a serious amount of water and show up on your bill month after month. The cause is usually a worn flapper or a fill valve that is not shutting off, and it is typically an inexpensive fix. It is one of the cheapest repairs to make and one of the most expensive to ignore.
